The CLIMATE COMPASS Training for Promoters
The aim of CLIMATE COMPASS is to offer the methodology all over Europe (particularly to local authorities in the New Member States and Southern Europe). For this purpose, a training programme for promoters is being developed.
The pilot training
Already once in the framework of this project, a pilot version of the training was held: with 15 participants from Romania, Spain, Italy, France, Hungary, Bulgaria, Ireland, Poland, Austria and Germany.
The CLIMATE COMPASS Training consists of two five-day units takes place in the city of Frankfurt (Germany).
The units were held from 29 May to 2 June 2006 and 3 July - 7 July 2006.

Global climate and climate change - international climate policy - strategies and fields of action in local climate change policies - institutionalisation of local climate policy, responsibilities and tasks - the CLIMATE COMPASS methodology - climate protection and sustainability - integration of climate change in ongoing planning processes and procedures - cost effectiveness and secondary benefits of local climate protection - presentation and facilitation - fundraising
The training included exercises, role plays, team work and excursions.
